Room 6 Camp 2020

 This year for camp in Room 6 we went to Living Spring in Lyttleton. Here is my slideshow about camp!

My Bulb Plant

I forgot to post something about my bulb plant the last couple days and sadly my bulb hasnt done anything... i'm starting to wonder is the is a bulb is in there anyway , but it could just possible be the cold weather we have here at the moment.

Home Maths

Today for maths I helped out around the shop by printing and writing at least 10 health safety signs for the shop and I also helped with cleaning and packing bags

Dear Grey District Council
My name is Ryan and I am a local Ahaura resident. I noticed your article in the Grey Star about your proposal towards building a theme park on the outskirts of Ahaura. In my opinion I am not with this idea as my family run the local store and we would lose AT LEAST 10% of our customers so in my eyes this is not a good idea

Passion Project

In class we are working on our Passion Projects, a Passion Project is something that you are passionate about. I like baking and cooking so I am going to cook a Italian Dessert which is a pizza topped with fruit. 

Hers my recipe idea.

1.  Buy a pizza base.
2. Melt marshmallow over the base and melt. (Mozzarella Cheese.)
3. Add fruit on top of marshmallow. (Pepperoni and other pizza toppings.)

Reading

In class this term we have a new reading activities site where we have 6 reading activities and we need to finish all the activities each week to get new activities for the following week, the reading activities is about our class book we are reading we had to make and a wanted poster for a guy who crashed their car in the book. Here is mine.

Technology

Every second Thursday our class goes to Technology. Technology is a group of classes that you can learn and create in, there are four classes Wood and Metal, Sewing, Digital Technologies, Cooking and Science. We have one class in the morning and one class in the afternoon. I am in Digital Technologies and Science. We had to make a website about what we are doing at Tech and also about what classes we are in. Here is my website.

In class we had to make a Mannequin Challenge a Mannequin Challenge is where you take a video of your friends dong everyday things  and they must stay completely still, here is our video!

Giving Back

Our topic for this term is Giving Back to people around the community. My group has started a community garden for people to come and get some fresh vegetables and fruit, here are some photos

Spud in a bucket

In class for fundraising for camp we had the idea of a spud in a bucket competition you had to buy a spud in a bucket for $10 and it was delivered to your house. You then had to care for it and help it grow, we are now going to have the weigh in and prizes, here is my poster that I made

In class after our camp to Murchursion we had to make a poster about an activity that we did on camp and our favourite thing about it. I made a poster about the Natural Flames

This term we went on a 4 day camp to Murchursion, when we got back from camp we had to make and advert about our favourite activity on camp, mine was "The Buller Canon Jet. Here is my advert

Text Message

In class we have been using an app called "Fake I-phone Text Message". Next term in week 1 we have our annual Pet Day where we bring our pets to school. We used the app to text our pets and had a conversation about anything we wanted. Mine was about my cat Flicka and having to go to the vets and not wanting to go to Pets Day. I enjoyed how real it looked and how easy it was to make one. Sadly they are two different photos because it was so long.

Paper Power

In class we have been learning about how to use the strategy paper power in our maths. Me and my buddy Liam made a slideshow on how to use it. Enjoy

My Mihi

In class for writing we had to make our very own Mihi. A Mihi is writing in Maori with things about yourself. It would be great if you could give me some feedback about it. I look forward to being able to make better videos and putting your feedback into good use in the future. Here is my Mihi.

Train Safety Poster!

In class we have been learning about train safety and how to be safe around train tracks. We had to find five rules about how to be safe around train tracks and then choose one of those rules to demonstrate and make a video about. It would be great if you could please leave some feedback so I can make future videos better and more interesting to watch. I look forward to being able to make my videos better. Chromebook Care

In class we have been learning how to take care of our Chromebook properly. We had to write 3 very important rules on how to care for your Chromebook. I found it quite easy to make and was nice for our brain to be reminded about how to take care of our Chromebook properly. Here is mine

Cherub Book

In class we have been reading the book called "The Recruit" In the book the main character "James" has joined a spy company for kids called "Cherub". So then for reading we were able to choose from at least 7 things to do. My mission was to recreate the book cover and also write the blurb about the book but in my own words.

A Red and White button.

In class we were given an item out of a box that was a replica of something from people that went to war. We then had to find out about that item and make a timeline about that soldiers item. My item was a red and white button. So if you had  person at war you would wear a read button and if they died at war you would change that button to white.
