Activity 1 Wk 1 SLJ

Here are my 3 facts about NZ that I thought were interesting!

  1.  NZ in Maori means Aotearoa and Aotearoa means: Land of the long white cloud.
      2.  NZ has the longest place name.

     3.  Auckland is home to the largest number of boats.

  1. Hi Ryan

Welcome to the Summer Learning Journey for the 2018 summer. It is great to have you blogging with us this summer. My name is Allie and I am the cluster manager for Toki Pounamu. I will be one of the people commenting on your blog over the summer.
You have made a great start to the programme with your three facts about New Zealand. It is great that you have read the article and then put your answers into your own words. That is exactly what you needed to do. So well done!
I like that we are known as Aotearoa! I think that when you look at the map of New Zealand we actually do look like a cloud. What do you think?
Auckland certainly does have a lot of boats in its harbour. Have you been to Auckland?
You can see all of the boats in the marina when you drive over the Auckland Harbour Bridge. As well as all of the boats that you see in the water.

Great work Ryan! I am looking forward to reading your posts over the summer. Keep up the good work.

    Until next time

    Allie :)
